About Your Ribbon Lady

So, a girl walks in to a bar…

Ok, fine! It was a warehouse, full of aisles and aisles of ribbon. I had just made my exit from finance and was looking for a new industry to break in to. And here’s a little secret for you: I never applied to May Arts Ribbon. My mother did, pretending to be me. She landed an interview, put a piece of paper on my desk and told me to be there. And the rest, as they say, was history.

15 years later, my world still revolves around ribbon.   I think in terms of ribbon. I walk in to the grocery store, for example, pick up an item & put it in my cart. I say nothing, but in my mind I am thinking, “that is the exact color of C65”. But, how did I become The Ribbon Lady?   Good question. About 9 years ago, the original owners sold May Arts, and the new owners were looking to make an online presence for the brand.   They needed someone to step up to the challenge and that person turned out to be me. Since then, I have helped to build 2 websites, created & managed 2 blogs, every social media site & established the most talented and loving team of designers I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of. In other words, I became The Ribbon Lady. And it wasn’t just a title; it was a part of who I am. I was The Ribbon Lady.

But, all things come to an end. And one day, suddenly, I was told I wasn’t The Ribbon Lady anymore. It felt like a part of my very core had been stripped from me. What am I going to do now? Who am I now? Well, I may not have all the answers yet. But I have learned one thing: I may not be The May Arts Ribbon Lady anymore, but I’m still Your Ribbon Lady. And I hope you’ll come along with me on this new journey. Cause that’s the thing about life: you never know where it will take you. How exciting!
